rants and ramblings

Went the Distance, Now I’m Back on my Feet

When you started your own business or started working in the field you’re in, I hope you did so chasing a dream.

Have you noticed how, over time, it’s easy to lose focus on that dream? One of the biggest killers for passion is success. When we start to succeed and log a few big wins, we start judging ourselves based on a bank account.

It’s impossible to hear “Eye of the Tiger” and not get motivated a bit, we all think we have a little of Rocky Balboa in us.

So many times it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

Don’t let some success make you soft. Look at what you’re doing now, and remember the dreams you had when you started. Are you still on track? If not, look for an old 80s mix-tape and crank Survivor until you feel like you’re ready to get out there and take a few punches and live your original dream.
